A great money making business opportunity is becoming a Virtual Assistant. Also known as a VA, this job requires you to take work off the shoulders of others. It is a great way to work at home on the computer, as you will be providing someone with pretty much any task they need done online. For example, you will do things like appointment setting, letter composition and research on the Internet. You will make money by requiring a flat or hourly rate for each task or job. Step two is determining the specialized skills you posses.

Step three is determining the subject expertise you posses.

Basic skills are the skills that most people posses, such as the ability to compose emails, use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and research topics on the Internet. These are all time consuming, and can hinder a professional’s ability to be productive. Hiring out this work can allow them to apply their expertise to work while still having the basic, and time consuming, work completed each day.

Step 2 is to specify the specialized skills you have. Specialized skills are skills that are more advanced than basic ones, such as proficiency using blogging software or a graphic design program. These skills give your more value than those who have the same basic skills that you do. If you have both specialized and basic skills, you will be a more powerful VA.

Step 3 is to specify the expertise you have. Skills are important, but knowledge that isn’t related to skills on the computer is also important. This is know as expertise. This will make you more appealing to an employer. You will know a lot about certain subjects, and this will make you a more productive VA.
